What I Learned at the Victoria Conference
by Kim Hood

  • Don't be shy. Network.
  • Entering contests pays off. People you don't know congratulate you when they see your ribbon. You have an opportunity to network.
  • Ask for a room close to the elevator. After a long night networking you'll appreciate the short walk.
  • Don't sabotage your writing career by being unprofessional.
  • The speakers appreciate feedback on their lectures.
  • Check your bill carefully.

And last, but not least...

  • NEVER wear new shoes to a conference.
