Write On, Vancouver 2007

Write On, Vancouver (May 4-5, 2007) was a great success with over 100 registrants. Everyone raved about the craft workshops and motivational talk presented by Nancy Kress (Writers Digest columnist, award-winning author and writing teacher). Appointment slots with editors Anne Groell (Bantam Spectra) and Wanda Ottewell (Harlequin Silhouette), and agent Sally Harding (The Harding Agency), were full, and many registrants received requests to submit. The Friday night sessions on pitching (presented by author Eileen Cook) and promotion/networking (presented by Solveig McLaren of Publicity Works) were also much appreciated. The Inn at Westminster Quay proved to be an excellent venue, Chapters Indigo's book table was very popular, and the critique draw, door prizes and opportunities to network with industry professionals were added benefits.
