Write On, Vancouver: Speakers

LISA JACKSON

Lisa Jackson has been helping to kill people everywhere from Savannah and New Orleans to San Francisco and the Pacific Northwest – and it’s really paid off. Her novel, FATAL BURN was a number 1 New York Times paperback bestseller in April, 2006 and her first hardcover novels, SHIVER and ABSOLUTE FEAR, broke new ground for her on best selling book lists across the nation. Since then, ALMOST DEAD was published as a mass market original and she has written LOST SOUL, which will go on sale March 25th, 2008.

Having made serial killing her business – sort of – she has put her characters through the wringer. They find themselves up their necks in danger, staring death, usually a pretty gory one, right in the face. Her obsessive curiosity has proven contagious and her audience keeps growing from book to book.

It all began when Lisa and her sister, novelist Nancy Bush, both mothers, first sat down determined to write, and to be published.

They did and they were.

Both later began to move in different directions. Born and raised in Oregon, and still living in the Pacific Northwest, Lisa has ended up on national bestseller lists, while Nancy’s writing has expanded to include her own novels, such as her recent ULTRAVIOLET, but also a career as a writer for one of television’s leading soap operas. Currently, plans are afoot for their foot collaboration in years, a thriller that will appear in 2009.

In a nutshell, who is Lisa Jackson? As those who know her can attest, this funny, smart woman who enjoys making the hair stand up on the back of her readers’ necks is a mom, a daughter, a workaholic and an amazing writer. www.lisajackson.com
